The Blind Billionaire Caught His Gold-Digger Fiancée — Her Face When He Opened His Eyes Was Priceless
Previously: He pretended to be blind to test her. When she shoved his granddaughter aside and robbed his safe, he opened his eyes—and every lie she'd told came crashing down.
The Pregnant Card She Thought Would Save Her
Three days later, Arthur's lawyer, Margaret Chen, sat across from him in the same library. The rain had stopped, but the tension in the room was thick enough to cut.
"The police found the stolen items in her apartment," Margaret said, sliding a file across the desk. "But she posted bail this morning. And she's threatening to go to the press."

Arthur didn't look up. He was polishing his glasses—the same dark pair he'd worn for three years.
"Let her talk," he said. "The camera footage is already with my attorneys."
Margaret hesitated. "There's something else. She's claiming…" She paused, choosing her words carefully. "She's claiming she's pregnant. With your child."
Arthur's hand stopped. Slowly, he raised his head, and his steel-blue eyes locked onto hers.
"Is that so?"
"She's demanding a paternity test," Margaret continued. "And if it comes back positive, under California law, she could claim a share of your estate. Even with the criminal charges."
Arthur leaned back in his chair. A faint smile played on his lips—not a warm smile, but the smile of a man who had been waiting for this exact moment.
"Let her demand it," he said. "I'll take the test tomorrow."
Margaret frowned. "But, Arthur—if she's telling the truth…"
"She's not," he said flatly. "I had a vasectomy thirty years ago. After my son was born. I never told anyone—not even my late wife."
Margaret blinked. "Then why…"
"Because I wanted to see how far she would go," Arthur said. "And I wanted her to believe she had a chance. So she would keep playing her game until she revealed everything."
The library door opened. Lily stepped in, holding a tablet. Her face was pale.
"Grandpa," she said softly, "you need to see this."
She turned the screen toward him. It was a video—Vanessa, standing in front of the mansion gates, speaking to a reporter.
"Arthur Sterling is a fraud," Vanessa said, her voice dripping with false tears. "He faked his blindness to trap me. He's trying to steal my baby's inheritance. I have evidence. Real evidence."
The reporter leaned in. "What kind of evidence?"
Vanessa smiled—a slow, poisonous smile. "Proof that he knew about his son's death. And that he covered it up. He paid off the police to make it look like an accident. But I have the original police report. And it shows his son was murdered."
Arthur's expression didn't change. But his knuckles went white.
"She's bluffing," Margaret said quickly. "There's no way she has that report. It's sealed."
Arthur shook his head. "She's not bluffing." He pulled out his phone and tapped the screen. "I gave her the report myself. Three years ago. When I first started dating her."
Margaret stared. "Why would you do that?"
"Because I wanted to see if she'd use it," Arthur said. "And she just did."
He stood up, walking to the window. Outside, the sun was setting, casting long shadows across the lawn.
"Call the police," he said quietly. "Tell them to arrest her for extortion. And tell them to check the second page of that report—the one that lists the driver's blood alcohol level."
Margaret's eyes widened. "That's…"
"That's proof she was driving the car that killed my son," Arthur finished. "And she just handed me the evidence I needed to send her to prison for the rest of her life."
Lily stepped forward, her small hand finding his. "Grandpa…"
Arthur looked down at her, and for the first time, his eyes softened.
"I know, sweetheart," he said. "I know."
He knelt down, placing his hands on her shoulders. "I lost your father twenty years ago. I couldn't save him. But I can make sure the woman who took him from us never hurts anyone again."
Lily nodded, tears welling in her eyes. "He would be proud of you."
Arthur kissed her forehead. "I hope so."
Then he straightened, his voice firm. "Margaret, set up the press conference. I want every major network there. And Vanessa? Invite her personally. Tell her I want to discuss a settlement."
Margaret hesitated. "Are you sure?"
Arthur's smile was cold. "I've never been more sure of anything in my life."
