Previously: A blind combat veteran's tactical prowess is put to the ultimate test when a ruthless heist leader corners her in a high-stakes showdown. Can she overcome the odds and survive?

In a lightning-fast blur of Close Quarters Battle reflexes, Sarah moved. The weighted metal tip of her cane swept out in a vicious arc, connecting with Marcus’s lead shin. The crack of impact was sharp, followed by a muffled grunt of pain. As he faltered, Sarah ducked beneath the trajectory of his wildly fired shot, the muzzle flash momentarily blinding. Simultaneously, her free hand clamped onto his pistol slide with bone-snapping leverage, the cold metal biting into her palm. Marcus’s eyes widened in paralyzed shock behind his balaclava. Intense agony contorted his brow as a strangled gasp lodged mutely in his throat. Sarah spoke, her voice a razor-sharp, icy military cadence that cut through the showroom’s ambient hum.

"Three paces... heavy right heel... loose grip."

She completed the brutal combat disarm with practiced efficiency, stripping the pistol from his grasp. Before Marcus could fully react to the pain, Sarah drove him face-down against the glossy black hood of a nearby concept car. The heavy, resonant thud echoed through the space, punctuated by the screech of metal against his tactical vest. She didn’t release him, instead racking the slide of his own pistol against his shoulder blade, a chillingly clear message.

"Chamber cleared, magazine stripped. You're out of your depth, amateur."

Marcus remained pinned, teeth gritted in torment. A single bead of sweat traced a path past his bruised temple, his body trembling helplessly under her iron forearm. The showroom, moments before a scene of impending violence, was now dominated by Sarah’s terrifyingly calm, deadpan authority. She stood tall, the disassembled firearm pieces held loosely in one hand, her cane planted firmly into the granite floor. Her unblinking, milky gaze swept across the remaining members of Marcus’s crew, who had frozen in horrified disbelief. The surrounding robbers remained motionless under the rotating automotive spotlights, caught in the spotlight of Sarah’s unyielding presence. But as Sarah surveyed her surroundings, a faint, almost imperceptible sound reached her ears—a soft click, distinct from the showroom’s ambient noise. It wasn’t Marcus. It was something else. Something far more dangerous and hidden.
