Previously: When a crying little boy approached a group of tough bikers offering to sell a wooden toy, a rugged biker discovered a secret that changed his life forever.

The Cabin of Secrets

The revelation struck Ryder like a physical blow. The other bikers gathered around in stunned silence, looking from the weeping boy to their rugged leader. Ryder knew he had to find out the truth. He lifted the boy, whose name was Billy, onto the back of his motorcycle, securing him tightly before roaring off toward the deep woods where Billy said he lived.

They arrived at a small, dilapidated cabin hidden beneath towering pines. The front door was ajar, creaking in the wind. Standing inside, Ryder felt a cold chill run down his spine. He walked into the dim bedroom and found a man lying motionless on a simple cot. It was Thomas, Ryder’s former best friend who had vanished seven years ago on the very same night Ryder's fiancé, Sarah, had disappeared.

For seven bitter years, Ryder believed they had run off together, betraying his trust. But Thomas was gone now, his body cold. In his stiff fingers, he clutched a sealed envelope addressed to Ryder. With trembling hands, Ryder tore it open and began to read the fading ink.

"Ryder, if you are reading this, I am dead, and Billy has found you. I know you hated us, but you must know the truth. Sarah didn't betray you. She was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer just after finding out she was pregnant. She didn't want you to watch her slowly wither away and destroy your life. She begged me to help her hide. I swore an oath to protect her and your son. I never touched her, Ryder. I only cared for her until she passed, and I raised your boy as my own until my own heart failed me. Billy is your son. Please, forgive me, and love him."
