Previously: During a rain-soaked funeral, a young boy crashes the ceremony with a chilling claim: the grieving father's daughter isn't dead, but trapped in a coma caused by her own stepmother.

The funeral director hesitated, his eyes wide with shock. "Sir, this is highly irregular and—"

"I said open it!" Arthur roared, his voice cracking with a mixture of hope and terror.

Evelyn rushed forward, grabbing Arthur’s arm. Her grip was frantic. "Arthur, please! This is madness! You are letting a disturbed child desecrate our daughter's memory! Let her rest in peace!"

But Arthur looked at his wife’s face and saw something he had never noticed before: guilt. It was written in the frantic twitch of her lips and the cold sweat on her brow. Gently but firmly, he pushed her hand away. "If the boy is wrong, I will apologize. But if there is even a fraction of a chance..."

Two cemetery workers stepped forward with tools. The agonizing sound of metal screeching against sealed wood filled the overcast air. The mourners watched in stunned silence as the lid of the small white casket was slowly pried open.

Arthur held his breath, stepping forward to look inside.

A Glimmer of Hope

Clara lay there, dressed in a beautiful white silk dress. But as Arthur stared at her, he realized something was wrong. She didn't look like the deceased. Her skin was pale, yes, but it lacked the hollow stiffness of death. Her cheeks still held a faint, almost imperceptible warmth.

With trembling fingers, Arthur reached down and pressed his hand against his daughter's neck. He waited, his own heart beating so loudly he was afraid he would miss it.

Then, he felt it.

Thump. Thump.

It was incredibly weak, barely a whisper, but it was there. A pulse.

"She's warm!" Arthur cried out, tears spilling over his cheeks. "She's breathing! Call an ambulance! Now!"

Chaos erupted. Evelyn took a step backward, her face draining of all color. She turned to run, but Leo blocked her path, pointing at her.

"She did it!" Leo yelled. "I saw her through the window the night Clara fell ill. She poured a blue bottle into Clara's cup and whispered that she would finally have Arthur all to herself!"
