Previously: At his daughter’s funeral, a grieving father is stopped by a terrified young boy who claims the girl isn't dead—she was put into a deep coma by her own stepmother.

The Unthinkable Truth

A tense, horrified murmur broke out among the guests as the cemetery workers hesitated. Margaret stepped forward, her voice high and frantic. "Thomas, please! This is madness! You are letting a delinquent ruin our daughter's funeral. Have some respect for her memory!" she pleaded, her hands shaking violently. But Thomas ignored her. The seed of doubt had taken deep root, and he could not let it go. He stepped toward the white casket himself, his hands gripping the heavy lid.

With a desperate heave, Thomas pushed the lid open. The crowd pressed forward, holding their breath. Clara lay inside, looking peaceful in her white lace dress, her skin pale. Thomas roared, his voice cracking with a mixture of disbelief and overwhelming hope.

Chaos erupted. Mourners scrambled for their phones. In the commotion, Margaret slowly began to back away from the crowd, her face a mask of pure terror. She turned to run toward the cemetery gates, but Liam, who had freed himself from the guards, pointed at her.

"She’s trying to escape!"
he yelled.

Two police officers, who had been present to manage the funeral traffic, quickly intercepted Margaret before she could reach her car. She screamed and struggled, but they cuffed her as Thomas knelt by the casket, desperately rubbing his daughter's cold hands, whispering her name over and over, begging her to wake up from the dark slumber his wife had trapped her in.
