A Boy Stopped My Daughter's Funeral to Reveal My Wife's Dark Secret
Previously: At his daughter's rainy funeral, a desperate boy interrupts Arthur with a chilling claim: his little girl isn't dead, and his elegant wife is the one to blame.
The Secret in the Shroud
A collective gasp rippled through the gathered crowd. Evelyn’s face drained of all color, turning as white as the marble headstones surrounding them. She grabbed Arthur’s arm, her fingers digging deep into his heavy woolen coat.
"Arthur, please, this is madness!" she pleaded, her voice trembling. "You're letting a delusional, troubled street child desecrate our daughter's final moments. Have some dignity!"
But Arthur could not ignore the raw sincerity in Leo’s eyes. He shoved his wife’s hand away and stepped toward the casket. The pallbearers hesitated, looking at each other in disbelief, before Arthur roared, "I said, open it now!"
With trembling hands, the funeral directors used their tools to unlatch the heavy lid. The wood groaned as it swung open, revealing little Lily. She lay there like a sleeping angel, dressed in a pale pink dress. Arthur reached in, his hand shaking uncontrollably as he pressed two fingers against the side of his daughter’s neck.
For five agonizing seconds, there was nothing but the sound of falling rain. Then, underneath his fingertips, he felt it. A beat. Slow, incredibly faint, but unmistakable. Thump... thump...
Arthur’s breath hitched. "She... she’s warm. Her heart is beating!" he cried out, his voice cracking with a mixture of overwhelming joy and absolute horror. "Call an ambulance! Now!"
Pandemonium erupted. Evelyn immediately turned and tried to flee toward the parked limousines, but two alert mourners blocked her path. Leo, still held by the guards, pointed at Evelyn's purse. "She has the empty vial in her bag! She didn't want Lily to inherit her mother's trust fund!" the boy shouted. Arthur stared at his wife of three years, realizing the beautiful woman he loved was a monster in disguise.
