A Boy Walks Into a Biker Bar Seeking Help, and One Name Changes Everything
The Boy with the Golden Token
The afternoon sun cut through the heavy dust of the Rusty Anvil, a roadside biker bar that smelled of stale beer, motor oil, and old secrets. Sitting at a scarred wooden table was Briggs, a massive, bald biker whose tattooed arms could easily crush a man's skull. He was nursing a drink when the double doors burst open. A gust of hot wind swept in, followed by Wyatt, an eleven-year-old boy with messy red hair, dirt-streaked cheeks, and a torn gray shirt. He looked terrified, his chest heaving as he scanned the room before locking eyes on Briggs.
Wyatt ran straight to the table and grabbed Briggs’s massive, scarred forearm. His small hands shook violently.
"Please. Help me," Wyatt pleaded, his voice cracking with desperation.
Briggs didn't flinch, but his gravelly voice cut through the quiet bar. "Who's after you, kid?"
"They're coming," Wyatt panted, looking over his shoulder at the swinging doors. "They're right behind me."
Briggs frowned, looking around the empty bar. "Why here? Why run to a place like this?"
"My father told me... come here if I was ever in trouble," Wyatt explained, his eyes wide and earnest.
Briggs leaned in closer, his imposing shadow completely engulfing the boy. He felt a strange chill in the air. "What's his name?"
The entire bar seemed to fall silent as Wyatt looked up, tears finally spilling over his dirt-caked cheeks. He whispered two words that made Briggs's blood run cold:
"John Wick."
Briggs froze, his breath catching in his throat. "No. That's impossible," he muttered. Slowly, Briggs reached into his leather vest and pulled out a heavy, gold continental coin, pressing it firmly into Wyatt's small palm. He stood up abruptly, his chair scraping loudly against the floorboards. He turned to the bar and roared, "Lock the doors!"
