Previously: When Lily's devoted boyfriend Toby washed her feet on the lawn, a sudden warmth returned to her legs. But the arrival of a family friend revealed a horrifying truth about her paralysis.

The Horrifying Truth Revealed

David collapsed onto the grass beside them, gasping for air. His face was pale, but his eyes burned with anger and urgency. He clutched a thick manila folder in his trembling hands. Toby stopped massaging Lily’s feet, his gaze shifting between David and the house, sensing the immense gravity of the moment.

"Lily, you need to listen to me very carefully,"

David panted, pulling out a set of laboratory documents. "Your accident caused temporary nerve swelling, but you should have been walking over a year ago. The reason you are still in this chair isn't because of your spine. It's because of your stepmother."

Lily stared at the papers, her heart hammering against her ribs. David explained that he had secretly taken a sample of the herbal tea Helen insisted Lily drink every single day. The lab results were indisputable: the tea was laced with a rare, slow-acting botanical neurotoxin. It was designed to mimic permanent paralysis and keep her mind in a constant, compliant fog.

Helen’s plan was as simple as it was cruel. By keeping Lily permanently disabled, Helen maintained legal guardianship over Lily and, more importantly, absolute control over her multimillion-dollar inheritance. Toby clenched his fists, his face turning red with fury.

Before they could process the horror, the heavy oak doors of the mansion slammed open. Helen marched down the steps, flanked by two imposing security guards. Her face was a mask of cold fury as she spotted the basin and the medical documents in David's hands.

"Get off my property immediately!"

Helen screamed, pointing a finger at Toby and David. "And Lily, get back inside. You are sick, and these people are filling your head with delusions!" The guards stepped forward, ready to enforce her orders, as Toby stood up protectively in front of Lily’s wheelchair.
