For a few seconds, the only sound in the elegant suite was the heavy breathing of the three individuals. Edward lay on the floor, clutching his bruised jaw in utter disbelief. He slowly wiped a trickle of blood from his lip, his eyes shifting from the wet carpet to the maid standing over him. The shock on his face rapidly mutated into absolute, burning fury. He scrambled to his feet, adjusting his rumpled slate grey suit, trying to regain his composure and his dominant stature.

"Do you have any idea what you just did, you pathetic peasant?" Edward hissed, his voice shaking with rage. "You just ruined your life. I will have you fired, blacklisted from every hotel in the country, and thrown into a concrete cell by sunset!"

Stephanie, still trembling on the floor, looked up at Theresa with wide, terrified eyes. "Please, you need to leave," Stephanie whispered, her voice cracking. "He is extremely powerful. He has connections everywhere. He will destroy you." But Theresa didn't move an inch. She planted her feet firmly, keeping her body positioned protectively between the abusive husband and his terrified wife.

Edward sneered, pulling a sleek smartphone from his pocket. He quickly dialed a number, putting it on speakerphone to humiliate Theresa further. "Vance," Edward demanded when the hotel's general manager answered. "Get up to the penthouse suite immediately with security. I was just physically assaulted by one of your incompetent maids. If she isn't in handcuffs in five minutes, I will pull all my investments from this hotel group!" He hung up, staring at Theresa with a smug, victorious grin. "Your little heroic moment is about to cost you everything," he sneered. Theresa merely smiled, her calm demeanor infuriating him even more. "We shall see about that," she replied quietly.
