For a long moment, the only sound in the penthouse was the hum of the air conditioner and Kimberly's ragged breathing. Donna slowly lowered her mop, keeping her eyes locked on Douglas's motionless body. Kimberly collapsed onto the sofa, clutching her bathrobe tightly around her shivering frame. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "You saved my life." Before Donna could answer, Douglas groaned, stirring on the floor. He rubbed his bruised jaw, glaring up at Donna with pure venom.

"Do you have any idea who I am?"

he hissed, spitting a trace of blood onto the carpet. "You're a miserable maid. I will buy this hotel just to fire you, and then I'll make sure you rot in jail for assault." Donna didn't back down. She stood between Douglas and Kimberly, holding her mop like a weapon. "Try it," she said coldly. "But the police will have a lot of questions about why you were dragging this woman by her hair."

Douglas laughed bitterly as he struggled to his feet. He revealed that Kimberly was his wife, claiming she had stolen millions from his company’s offshore accounts before fleeing to this hotel. Kimberly wept, shaking her head.

"That money was my inheritance! He locked me away and used my family's fortune to build his empire!"
