Previously: When Brody poured a cup of soda over quiet Dylan's head in the crowded cafeteria, he thought it was just another easy laugh. He had no idea Dylan held his entire future.

The Power Shift

Brody laughed, expecting a pathetic swing or a tearful retreat. But Dylan didn't flinch. Instead, he reached down with a calm, steady hand and wiped a stray drop of soda from his laptop screen. He tapped a single key on the keyboard. A soft hum resonated from the device, and suddenly, the main digital bulletin board hanging on the cafeteria wall flickered, overriding the daily announcements.

Brody’s smirk began to fade as a document appeared on the massive screen. It was a spreadsheet, clearly detailing the school's athletic department records. But these weren't game statistics. They were grade modifications. Right at the top of the list, highlighted in bright red, was Brody’s name, showing how his failing English and math grades had been secretly changed to straight A's by his father, who happened to be the president of the school board.

A collective gasp rippled through the cafeteria. Students began whispering furiously, pointing at the screen and then at Brody. The star quarterback’s face drained of color, turning a ghostly white under the harsh fluorescent lights.

"What is that? Turn it off!" Brody demanded, stepping forward aggressively.

Dylan didn't back down. He stood his ground, his wet hoodie clinging to his shoulders, but his posture radiating absolute authority. He had spent weeks uncovering the corruption that kept the school’s golden boys untouchable while academic students were denied scholarships due to budget cuts.

"You thought I was just some quiet kid you could push around," Dylan said, his voice carrying effortlessly across the silent room. "But while you were practicing how to throw a football, I was learning how to code. And I found everything."

Just then, the heavy double doors of the cafeteria swung open. Principal Harris strode in, his eyes darting from the giant screen to Brody, and finally to Dylan. The tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife.
