The silence in the plaza was deafening as Elena stood up, slung her own bag over her shoulder, and walked away, leaving Harper sobbing on the pavement. But the drama was far from over. Within an hour, Elena was summoned to the Dean’s office.

When she walked in, she found Harper sitting on a leather sofa, ice pack pressed to her shoulder, flanked by her wealthy socialite mother, Evelyn, and the Dean himself. Harper's face was red with fury.

"She assaulted my daughter and destroyed her property!" Evelyn shrieked the moment Elena entered. "I want this girl expelled immediately, and we will be filing criminal charges!"

Dean Harrison looked grave. He turned to Elena, his expression stern. "Elena, assault is a zero-tolerance offense here. Harper claims you attacked her unprovoked and accused her of carrying counterfeit goods to ruin her reputation. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"

Elena remained remarkably calm. She sat down, placing her bag neatly on her lap. "I defended myself when Harper physically grabbed me and tried to assault me. And I didn't lie. Her bag is a counterfeit. In fact, it's a cheap replica of my family's brand."

Evelyn let out a harsh, mocking laugh. "Your family's brand? You are a scholarship student living in a cramped dorm! My husband and I are major donors to this university. How dare you accuse us of buying counterfeits!"

Harper smirked behind her ice pack, confident that her family's wealth and influence would easily crush Elena. The Dean sighed, leaning forward. "Elena, without proof, these are serious accusations that only worsen your situation."

"Then let's get proof," Elena replied smoothly. "I want an official authenticator to examine both of our bags. If I am lying, I will pack my bags and leave this university today."
