I Caught My Best Friend in My Bed, But Her True Motive Shattered Me
Previously: When Chloe walked into her own bedroom and found her best friend Sarah under the sheets, she thought it was the ultimate betrayal—until a hidden truth came to light.
Chloe’s screams echoed through the empty house, but the confrontation was far from over. Before Sarah could even step off the mattress, the door to the master bathroom swung open. Mark walked out, wearing nothing but a towel. His face drained of color the moment his eyes met Chloe's.
"Chloe, you're back early," Mark stammered, his voice lacking the warmth she had loved for three years.

"Is this a joke?" Chloe whispered, her voice trembling. "Both of you... in my home? In our bed?"
But Sarah didn't try to run. Instead, she slid off the bed and fell to her knees on the cold floor, reaching out to grab Chloe’s hand. "Chloe, listen to me! I wasn't sleeping with him! I came here to find the documents!"
A Dangerous Scheme
Mark’s expression shifted instantly. The panicked fiancé vanished, replaced by a cold, calculating stranger. He stepped forward, grabbing Sarah roughly by the arm and pulling her up. "Shut up, Sarah," he snarled.
"What documents?" Chloe demanded, backing away as a chill ran down her spine.
"He’s stealing from you, Chloe!" Sarah cried out, tears streaming down her face. "He’s been forging your signature on your father's estate papers. He’s in debt to dangerous people, and he’s using your inheritance to pay them off! I found the bank transfers today. He caught me in his office, took my keys, and locked me in here!"
Chloe stared at Mark, waiting for him to laugh, to deny it, to tell her Sarah was lying. But Mark didn't deny a thing. Instead, he slowly walked to the bedroom door and turned the lock.
He reached into his pocket, pulled out a small flash drive, and tossed a thick stack of legal documents onto the bed.
"She’s right, Chloe," Mark said, his voice flat and devoid of emotion. "But now that you both know, we have a problem. You’re going to sign these transfer papers tonight, or neither of you is leaving this room."
