The Confrontation

In the back of the car, Richard’s knuckles turned white as he gripped his phone. On the screen, Lily’s desperate cries echoed.

"Please, I want dad!" Lily begged.

Eleanor scoffed, stepping closer to the weeping child.

"He won't see this," she sneered, confident in her absolute control.

But miles away, Richard stared at the screen with absolute fury.

"I see everything," he muttered darkly.

He ordered his driver to turn the car around immediately, racing back to the estate at breakneck speed. Every minute felt like an eternity as he watched the live feed. When the car finally screeched to a halt in the driveway, Richard leapt out and stormed up the stone steps. He threw his entire weight against the heavy front door, slamming it open with a thunderous crash that shook the entire house.

Eleanor’s smug expression instantly melted into pure terror. The plate of cookies she was holding slipped from her hands, shattering across the very marble floor she had forced Lily to scrub. Lily immediately ran to her father, burying her face in his trench coat as she sobbed hysterically. Richard lifted his daughter into his arms, holding her tight, before turning a piercing glare toward his wife.

Eleanor tried to stammer an excuse, her voice trembling.

"Richard! You're home early. I was just... I was teaching Lily some basic chores," she lied, trying to regain her composure.

Without saying a word, Richard pulled out his phone and turned the screen toward her. The video of her cruel behavior was playing on a loop. Eleanor's face drained of all color. Realizing she was caught, her desperation turned into venom. She lunged forward, trying to grab the phone, but Richard stepped back, shielding Lily.

"Get out of my house," Richard growled, his voice dangerously low. "Before I have the police drag you out in handcuffs."
