I Caught My Sister in My Bed, but the Truth Was Far Worse
The Ultimate Betrayal
The rain beat heavily against the windshield as Chloe pulled into the driveway. She had cut her business trip short, eager to surprise her husband, Mark, for their anniversary. The house was dark, save for a warm, amber glow spilling from their upstairs bedroom window. Smiling, she unlocked the front door and slipped inside, her heels clicking softly on the hardwood floor.
But as she reached the top of the stairs, an eerie silence hung in the air. The bedroom door was slightly ajar. Through the crack, she didn't hear the sound of her husband. Instead, a soft, rustling sound came from the bed. Chloe’s heart hammered against her ribs. She pushed the door open, her auburn hair falling in a messy ponytail over her black silk camisole.

There, standing at the foot of the bed, Chloe froze. Her back was to the camera of her own mind as she stared at the figure beneath the sheets. It wasn’t Mark. It was Sarah, her absolute best friend, wearing a white satin slip that belonged to Chloe. Sarah’s eyes widened in sheer terror as she clutched the gray duvet to her chest.
"Chloe... what are you doing here?" Sarah stammered, her voice trembling.
The shock instantly morphed into a blinding, white-hot rage. Chloe felt the veins in her neck tighten as she stepped forward. The camera of her reality focused entirely on Sarah's guilty face. With a guttural scream, Chloe grabbed the edge of the gray duvet and yanked it off the bed with all her strength.
"Get out!" Chloe screamed, her voice cracking with the weight of a shattered life.
Sarah scrambled backward, sobbing, as Chloe stood there in her black underwear, trembling in pure, unadulterated anger. The betrayal was complete. Or so she thought.
