Previously: When Chloe walked into her bedroom and found her sister Sarah under the sheets, she thought it was the ultimate betrayal. But the secret they were hiding changed everything.

A Web of Lies

As Sarah sat shivering on the edge of the mattress, Chloe looked around the room, expecting Mark to emerge from the master bathroom. But the room was empty. Instead, her eyes fell upon a thick manila folder resting on the nightstand, alongside a set of keys. Chloe’s keys.

With trembling hands, Chloe snatched the folder and opened it. Her breath caught in her throat. Inside were divorce papers, but that was only the beginning. Attached was a property transfer deed, showing that Chloe had supposedly signed over her entire share of their joint business and their home to Sarah. The signature at the bottom looked exactly like her own, but she had never seen this document in her life.

"What is this, Sarah?" Chloe whispered, her voice dangerously low. "Did you take my husband and my life?"
"Chloe, please, you have to listen to me," Sarah pleaded, reaching out. "It’s not what it looks like. Mark is... he’s dangerous."

Before Sarah could explain, heavy footsteps echoed on the stairs. Mark walked into the room, flanked by two men in dark business suits. His face was devoid of the warmth Chloe had loved for five years. He looked at her with cold, calculating eyes.

"I see you got the paperwork," Mark said, his voice flat. "You have ten minutes to pack your things. You don't own this house anymore, Chloe. Sarah does."

Chloe stared at her husband, unable to process the cruelty. "This is a forgery! I never signed these papers!" she screamed, looking at the lawyers. But they remained stoic, presenting a restraining order that legally barred her from the property.

Mark smiled, a sinister, victorious smirk. But then, Sarah stood up, her tears suddenly drying, replaced by a fierce determination. She looked at Mark and then at Chloe.

"She didn't sign them, Mark. Because I forged her signature," Sarah said clearly. "And I did it to save her from you."
