Previously: A desperate clockmaker faced a ruthless developer in a high-stakes courtroom battle over ancestral land. An ancient deed and a ticking clock held the key to saving his legacy.

Justice Ticks On

Panic flared in Carter Ross’s eyes. In a desperate lunge, he lunged over the leather partition, fingers outstretched to snatch the fragile parchment. But Liam was faster. With explosive kinetic velocity, he intercepted Carter’s wrist mid-air. His calloused fingers locked around Carter’s joint with a loud, stinging smack, halting the charge cold. "Lay one finger on sovereign paper," Liam’s voice dropped to a chilling, guttural venom, "and the bailiff puts you in irons for high treason, boy." Carter ground his teeth, searing shock and humiliation washing over him as cold sweat beaded on his pale forehead.

Gasps rippled through the spectators as they surged forward. Carter stumbled back, his trembling hand dropping his gold fountain pen to clatter across the floor. Liam stood resolute, a titan bathed in the stained-glass light, hoisting the glowing wax seal high. "Call off your bulldozers, Ross," he boomed, his voice silencing the courtroom, "starting today, your glass tower sits on my property, and rent is overdue." Carter stared blankly, utterly defeated. As the antique clock chimed its deep, reverberating toll, a further revelation stunned the court: Carter Ross’s own great-grandfather had been the magistrate who originally signed the fraudulent deed Carter had tried to use, a secret shame his family had buried for generations. Justice, it seemed, had a way of ticking on, no matter how long it took.
