Previously: When a jealous stepmother publicly humiliated a young girl at a high-society gala, an unexpected savior stepped in—only to discover a shocking truth hidden within a family heirloom.

A Grandfather's Justice

Vivian, sensing the sudden shift in the room's atmosphere, tried to laugh it off. "Edward, surely you can't believe this sob story! Eleanor was a rebel who abandoned her family. This girl is nothing but a fraud trying to squeeze money out of your grief!"

Edward slowly turned his gaze to Vivian, his eyes cold as ice. The warmth he had shown Sophie was entirely gone, replaced by the formidable authority of a man who ruled an empire. He stood tall, shielding Sophie behind him.

"Silence, Vivian," Edward commanded, his voice echoing off the high ceilings. "I designed this crest myself. I know my daughter's eyes, and I know my own blood. Sophie is my granddaughter, the rightful heir to everything I own."

The crowd erupted into stunned gasps. Vivian stumbled backward, her face turning pale as she realized the gravity of her mistake. By trying to ruin Sophie, she had inadvertently handed her the key to the ultimate kingdom. She had exposed her own cruelty to the very man who held all the power in their social circle.

"Security," Edward called out smoothly, gesturing to the guards standing near the entrance. "Please escort this woman out of my gala. She is banned from this venue, and I will personally ensure she is blacklisted from every social club in this city. As for her husband, I think our business partnerships are officially concluded."

As the guards grabbed Vivian’s arms, she began to scream and protest, but her cries were quickly drowned out by the applause of the guests. She was dragged out of the grand ballroom in absolute disgrace, her bronze gown no longer looking so brilliant.

Edward turned back to Sophie, a soft, tearful smile gracing his face. He gently wrapped his tuxedo jacket around her shoulders, covering her damaged dress. "You will never have to worry about her, or anyone else, ever again," he promised softly. "You are home now, Sophie."

As they walked out of the ballroom together, leaving the whispers behind, Sophie knew her mother was watching over her. True elegance isn't found in expensive silks or glittering jewels, but in the enduring power of love and the justice that eventually finds its way to the light.
