Previously: When a malicious nurse targeted a helpless eighty-year-old widow in a hospital hallway, she had no idea the woman's daughter was a highly trained military officer returning from deployment.

The Cover-Up Begins

The hospital corridor erupted into chaos. Nurse Brenda lay on the floor, clutching her ribs and gasping for breath, her face twisted in shock and rage. "Assault! She assaulted me!" Brenda screamed, pointing a trembling finger at the military officer. Security guards rushed into the hallway, but they froze upon seeing Captain Sarah Vance, who stood like an immovable fortress of green and brass over her sobbing mother.

Sarah ignored the screaming nurse, kneeling to gently cradle Clara in her arms. "I've got you, Mom. You're safe now," she whispered, her voice a stark contrast to the lethal fury in her eyes. Within minutes, the commotion brought Dr. Harrison, the hospital’s Chief of Medicine, rushing to the scene. Instead of investigating the abuse, Harrison’s face darkened when he saw Brenda. Brenda was his niece, a family connection that had shielded her from numerous patient complaints in the past.

"Delete that security footage immediately," Dr. Harrison whispered frantically to a nearby administrator, assuming no one could hear him over the alarms. He then turned to Sarah, his voice dripping with false authority. "Captain, you have committed a federal offense by assaulting a medical professional on hospital grounds. If you do not leave immediately and agree to drop this, we will have you court-martialed."

But Sarah only smiled, a cold, dangerous expression. She tapped a small, black device pinned to her military service dress uniform. It was a tactical body camera, active and recording in high definition. "I suggest you think very carefully about your next words, Doctor," Sarah said calmly. "Not only did this device record your niece abusing a defenseless widow, but it also just recorded you ordering a cover-up. My unit's legal counsel is already on the line."
