Previously: Clara walked into a hostile biker bar facing certain danger, but the vintage vest hidden under her jacket turned her terrifying confrontation into a shocking revelation about her missing husband.

A Legacy Built on Secrets

The tavern fell into a suffocating silence. The clinking of glasses stopped, and even the music from the jukebox seemed to fade into the background. From the dark corner of the bar, an older man with graying hair and a deeply lined face stepped forward. It was Marcus, the current president of the Iron Shadows. He stared at the vest on Clara’s chest, his eyes wide with a mixture of shock and sudden panic.

"That's Thomas's vest," Marcus murmured, his voice shaking slightly before he quickly regained his composure. "Thomas 'Ghost' Vance. He ran out on us thirty years ago. Stole the club's funds and vanished like a coward. Why do you have his colors, lady?"

Clara turned her gaze to Marcus, her eyes narrowing. She knew exactly who he was. Thomas had spoken of him often in the old days—but the letter she had found in the attic painted a far different picture of their brotherhood.

"He didn't run, Marcus," Clara said, her voice echoing in the quiet bar. "And he didn't steal a single dime. I found his lockbox last week. I found this vest, and along with it, a letter he wrote the night he vanished. A letter detailing exactly what happened to him."

Marcus’s face drained of color. He took a step toward her, his hand instinctively drifting toward the waistband of his jeans where a heavy pistol rested. The younger bikers in the room watched the exchange with growing confusion and tension, sensing the shift in the air.

"You're a liar," Marcus hissed, his voice tight. "Thomas was a thief. You need to take that vest off and get out of here before I make you."

Butch stepped between Clara and Marcus, his massive frame forming an impenetrable shield. He looked down at Marcus, then back at Clara.

"Let her speak, Marcus," Butch growled. "If she has proof of what happened to Ghost, the club deserves to hear it."
