My Daughter Whispered a Terrifying Warning on My Flight and Saved My Life
Previously: When Arthur boarded his flight, he didn't expect his estranged daughter to be his flight attendant—or that she would force him off the plane to save his life.
The Secret in the Jet Bridge
The cool air of the jet bridge hit Arthur like a physical blow. He leaned heavily against the metallic wall, gasping for breath, though his chest pain was entirely fabricated. Behind him, the plane door remained open, and he could hear the muffled chaos of the cabin. But his focus was entirely on the flight attendant who had just pulled him from the flight.
She closed the heavy door behind them, shutting out the noise. She leaned against it, her chest heaving as she let out a long, shuddering breath. When she looked up at Arthur, tears welled in her eyes, washing away the professional mask of a cabin crew member.
"Who are you?" Arthur demanded, his voice shaking. "What is the meaning of this?"
She reached up, unpinning her name tag, which read 'Sarah'. She wiped a smudge of heavy makeup from her cheek, revealing a small, crescent-shaped scar near her temple. Arthur's breath hitched. It was a scar from a childhood bicycle accident. A scar he had comforted his little girl through twenty years ago.
"Clara?" Arthur whispered, his voice cracking. "My God, Clara... you're alive? They told me you died in that accident with your mother."
"I didn't die, Dad. Evelyn paid my mother's family to hide me away, to tell you we were gone so she could have you and your fortune all to herself," Clara said, her voice trembling with years of suppressed pain. "But I found the truth. And I couldn't let her finish what she started."
Arthur's mind spun. "What do you mean?"
"I've been tracking her," Clara explained quickly, glancing back at the closed door. "She didn't know I worked this airline. Dad, before boarding, I saw her slip a tasteless, slow-acting toxin into your water bottle. If you stay on this flight, you will suffer a massive cardiac arrest over the ocean. There will be no doctors, no hospital, and she will inherit everything."
