David Returned Home to Find His Mother Cruelly Humiliating His Pregnant Wife
Previously: When David returned early from his business trip, he expected a warm family reunion. Instead, he found his pregnant wife sobbing on the floor while his mother watched with cold indifference.
The Price of Pride
For the first time, Margaret’s mask of aristocratic perfection cracked. Her face paled as David snatched the phone from Julia's hand. He swiped through the video feed, his jaw clenching tighter with every second of footage. He watched in horror as his mother deliberately swept the chocolate cake off the kitchen island, smirked, and ordered his heavily pregnant wife to get on her knees. He saw clips from previous days—Margaret turning off the air conditioning in the sweltering summer heat while Julia gasped for air, and his mother whispering toxic threats into his wife's ear.
The silence in the grand living room was deafening. Margaret stood up, attempting to regain her composure. "David, surely you won't let a few edited clips ruin our family. I did what was best for you. She is not one of us."
"You are right, Mother," David said, his voice cold as ice. "She is not like you. She has a heart. And you are forgetting one crucial detail. This mansion doesn't belong to you or Father. Grandfather left it directly to me."
Margaret gasped, her hand flying to her chest. "You wouldn't dare."
"Pack your things, Mother. You have one hour to leave my house," David declared, his tone leaving no room for negotiation. "If you ever approach my wife or my child again, I will release all of this footage to the board of your charity foundation and the press. Let's see how your high-society friends view your grace then."
Realizing she had lost entirely, Margaret grabbed her designer handbag and stormed out of the mansion, the heavy oak doors slamming behind her. David turned back to Julia, cradling her face in his hands. He promised her that she would never have to endure such pain again, and that their child would grow up in a home filled only with love and respect.
True family is built on love, respect, and protection, and no amount of wealth or status can ever justify the mistreatment of those we are meant to cherish.
