Victoria stood beside her husband, her elegant rose gold gown shimmering under the massive crystal chandeliers. It was supposed to be the proudest night of her year, a charity gala celebrating her family's philanthropic work. Her seven-year-old son, Toby, suddenly yanked his hand away from hers. Instead of reaching for Victoria, he turned and bolted toward Clara, the quiet nanny dressed in her light grey-blue uniform who stood near the heavy velvet curtains.
