A Script Written in Betrayal

The atmosphere inside the grand foyer of the historic mansion was thick with tension, but it wasn’t just because of the high-stakes scene they were filming. Clara, a talented actress with thick, dark curly hair, stood at the top of the polished white marble staircase. Clad in an elegant ivory silk dress that draped beautifully over her eight-month pregnant belly, she tried to focus on her lines. Playing opposite her was Julian, her handsome husband of three years, looking dashing in a sharp black tuxedo. Standing just a step behind him was Vivienne, a striking strawberry-blonde actress wearing a deep burgundy gown, who played the story’s antagonist.

But the drama off-screen was far more volatile than any script. For weeks, Clara had sensed a chilling distance from Julian, and an icy hostility from Vivienne. As the director called for action, Clara took her place at the precipice of the stairs. According to the screenplay, Vivienne was supposed to deliver a scathing monologue, and Clara was to turn and walk away. But as Vivienne stepped forward, she leaned close to Clara’s ear.

"You think this baby makes you safe, Clara? He loves me. He’s leaving you,"
Vivienne hissed, her voice a poisonous whisper.

Before Clara could process the shock, she felt a sharp, deliberate shove against her shoulder. Clara’s heel slipped on the slick, polished marble. With a terrified scream of

"Ahhh! Oh my god!"
she began sliding down the steep staircase, desperately trying to shield her abdomen. Julian, startled by the sudden deviation from the scene, lunged forward to catch her. Instead, he lost his footing, tripping and tumbling over her. Vivienne, caught in the chaotic momentum of her own malice, tripped on her heavy burgundy train and plummeted backward down the steps behind them. The cameras kept rolling as the three actors crashed to the bottom of the stairs in a chaotic, screaming pile.
