A Confrontation in the Rain

The neon lights of the Grand Plaza Hotel bled into the wet asphalt, casting distorted halos of red and gold across the rain-slicked driveway. Under the grand, glowing canopy, a black luxury sedan glided to a halt. Inside, the world was warm and quiet, but outside, a storm was raging. Suddenly, a figure burst from the shadows of the alleyway. It was Liam, a fifteen-year-old boy drenched to the bone, his oversized dark hoodie clinging to his shivering frame. His messy blonde hair was plastered to his forehead, and his eyes burned with a mixture of raw grief and fury.

Before the valet could open the door, Liam rushed forward, throwing wet, crumpled papers against the tinted glass. "This is your fault!" he screamed, his voice cracking with emotion. He yanked the rear car door open before anyone could stop him. Inside sat Victoria, a striking woman in her mid-20s, wearing a glittering cream silk gown and elegant diamonds. She looked like royalty, completely detached from the cold world outside.

Startled and outraged, Victoria stepped out of the vehicle, her long auburn curls instantly catching the damp wind. "Have you lost your mind?" she demanded, her voice sharp with high-society authority. But Liam didn't flinch. Tears streamed down his pale cheeks, mixing with the cold rain. "You left my mother begging in the rain, and never looked back," he cried, his voice trembling with years of pent-up pain.

Victoria's expression shifted from anger to sheer confusion. "I don't even know who you are," she hissed, attempting to brush past him. But Liam reached into his pocket and pulled out a wet, crumpled black-and-white photograph. He thrust it directly in front of her face, his hand shaking violently. "She said you were my real mother," he sobbed, holding the image of a young, smiling Victoria holding a newborn baby.
