Previously: Olivia was pregnant and homeless after her cruel ex-husband threw her onto the pavement. But when she made one phone call to her father, the tables turned instantly.

The Arrival of the Patriarch

The heavy doors of the lead SUV swung open, and three men in sharp, dark suits stepped out, immediately flanking the vehicle. From the backseat emerged Arthur Vance, a legendary real estate tycoon whose name was spoken in hushed, respectful tones across the state. Arthur, with his stern gaze and silver hair, looked at his weeping daughter, and his face hardened into a mask of pure fury. Behind him, a legal assistant carried a thick leather briefcase.

Richard’s smug expression dissolved instantly, replaced by a ghostly pallor. When Richard had met Olivia, she had been using her mother’s maiden name, desperate to build a life free from her family's overwhelming wealth and influence. Richard had assumed she was a middle-class woman with no safety net. He had spent years subtly isolating her, eventually divorcing her in a lopsided settlement before she realized she was pregnant, believing she had no resources to fight back.

"Arthur... Mr. Vance,"

Richard stammered, his voice cracking as he took a step back on the veranda. Sarah gripped his arm tighter, suddenly looking terrified.

"What is the meaning of this? This is private property. Your daughter was refusing to leave."

Arthur ignored Richard entirely. He walked straight to Olivia, gently lifting her from the concrete and wrapping his arm around her.

"I've got you, sweetheart,"

he murmured, wiping a tear from her cheek. He then turned his icy glare toward the steps.

"You have five minutes to explain why my daughter’s belongings are on the floor, Richard, before my security team shows you what real eviction looks like."

Richard tried to regain his composure, puffing out his chest.

"I bought this house! The deed is in my name. You have no legal right to be here!"

Arthur’s lawyer stepped forward, opening the briefcase and pulling out a set of laminated documents.

"Actually, Richard,"

the lawyer said with a cold smile,

"you bought this house using a shell company funded by a high-interest loan from Vance Holdings. A loan you defaulted on three days ago."
