The doors of the lead SUV swung open, and out stepped Arthur Vance. At sixty-two, Arthur was a legendary figure in the corporate world, a ruthless attorney whose name made billionaires tremble. Behind him, four suited associates and a private security detail emerged, moving with military precision. Arthur ignored Richard entirely, walking straight to his daughter. He knelt in the gravel, wrapping his tailored coat around her shivering shoulders.

"Are you hurt, sweetheart?" Arthur asked, his voice low and dangerous. Olivia shook her head, tears spilling onto his shoulder. "Good. Stand behind me."

Richard’s smug smile began to falter, though he tried to maintain his arrogant posture. He walked down the steps, Sarah clinging to his arm like a shield.

"Arthur, you can’t trespass here," Richard blustered, though his voice lacked its previous venom. "Olivia signed the prenup. This mansion is mine, and she has no right to be here. Get your thugs off my lawn."

Arthur turned slowly, his eyes locking onto his former son-in-law. One of his associates stepped forward, handing Arthur a thick leather binder. Arthur flipped it open with practiced ease.

"You always were an idiot, Richard," Arthur said, his voice echoing across the courtyard. "You signed a prenuptial agreement drafted by my firm. Did you honestly think I wouldn't protect my daughter?"

Richard frowned, a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. "I read the contract. The mansion was bought by my company!"

"Your company," Arthur countered, "which was funded ninety percent by Vance Ventures. Furthermore, Section Twelve of the deed states that in the event of proven marital infidelity, ownership of this property, along with all assets of your startup, immediately reverts to the primary investor. That investor is Olivia."
