Previously: When James returned early from his business trip, he expected a quiet house. Instead, he found his beloved daughter Mia sobbing in a maid's uniform, while his new wife watched with cold satisfaction.

James stared at the woman he had foolishly married, feeling a profound sense of disgust. But instead of panicking, a slow, grim smile spread across his face. He reached into his leather briefcase and pulled out a thick manila folder.

"I knew you were greedy, Caroline, but I didn't think you were stupid," James said quietly.

He tossed the folder onto the marble floor, right at her feet.

"I noticed the discrepancies in our offshore accounts three weeks ago," James continued, his voice steady and powerful. "I never went to Europe for a business merger. I went to meet with forensic accountants. And that power of attorney you think you hold? I revoked it the moment the bank flagged your unauthorized transfers."

Caroline’s face drained of all color. She stared at the folder, refusing to touch it.

"You're bluffing," she whispered, her voice trembling.
"The police are already on their way," James replied. "You have ten minutes to pack your things before they arrive to escort you out. If I ever see you near my daughter again, I will make sure you spend the rest of your life behind bars."

Caroline looked at James, then at Mia, realizing her empire of lies had collapsed in an instant. Without another word, she turned and fled up the grand staircase.

James immediately rushed to Mia, pulling his daughter into a tight, fierce embrace. He didn't care about the soapy water ruining his expensive suit.

"I am so sorry, sweetheart," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I should have seen through her. I will never let anyone hurt you again."

Mia held onto her father, finally feeling safe. In the end, greed had destroyed a marriage, but truth had restored a family.
