A Father Returns Home Early to Find His Daughter Kneeling Before His Cruel Wife
Previously: When Richard returned home early from a business trip, he expected a warm welcome. Instead, he found his precious daughter scrubbing the marble floors while his new wife watched with cold satisfaction.
A Father's Sacred Promise
The silence in the foyer was deafening. Beatrice tried to stammer an excuse, but the look in Richard's eyes told her that her reign of terror was over. Within minutes, Richard had called his head of security and his legal team. He did not care about the scandal; his only priority was protecting his daughter.
"Pack your bags,"
Richard ordered coldly, his voice leaving no room for negotiation.
"You have ten minutes to leave this property. My lawyers will contact you tomorrow morning with divorce papers. If you ever come near my daughter again, I will ensure you spend the rest of your life behind bars."
Beatrice, realizing she had lost everything, fled up the stairs in tears, her crimson gown trailing behind her like a symbol of her ruined ambition.
Richard turned back to Emily, gently wiping the tears from her face. He helped her out of the maid's uniform and wrapped his own suit jacket around her shoulders. Together, they walked up to the master bedroom, where Richard forced open Beatrice's jewelry box. There, hidden beneath a velvet tray, was the gold locket belonging to Emily’s late mother.
Richard placed the locket gently around Emily's neck, his own eyes filling with tears.
"I am so sorry, my sweet girl,"
he whispered, hugging her tightly.
"I promised your mother I would protect you, and I failed. But I promise you, from this moment on, no one will ever hurt you again."
Months later, the mansion was filled with laughter once more. The cold marble floors no longer felt like a prison, but a place where Emily could run freely. Richard resigned from his demanding travel schedule to spend every day with his daughter, realizing that no amount of wealth could ever replace the precious time spent protecting and loving his family.
True wealth is not measured by the size of your mansion, but by the love and safety you provide for the ones who call it home.
