Gloria slowly pushed herself up from the floor, wiping a smear of blood from her lip. Her elegant teal dress was dusty, and her eyes burned with malice. "You think you've won, Henry?" she spat, her voice trembling with anger. "You're defending a thief. That old woman has been living a lie for fifty years!"

Henry looked from his panting fiancée to his grandmother, who was weeping silently, her knuckles white as she held the wooden cane tightly against her chest. "What are you talking about, Gloria?
