Previously: When flight attendant Clara whispered a chilling warning to an older passenger, he thought she was crazy. But faking an illness to escape the plane saved his life from a deadly family betrayal.

A Deadly Prescription

The moment Arthur crossed the threshold of the aircraft door, the simulated heart attack became a secondary concern to the sheer confusion swirling in his mind. Clara guided him quickly down the jet bridge, bypassing the gate agents and leading him straight toward a secluded airport medical room. Behind them, the gate agent was already on her radio, calling for paramedics, but Clara locked the clinic door the moment they were inside.

"What is the meaning of this?" Arthur gasped, sinking into a plastic chair. "My son is still on that plane! I need to get back."

"Your son is the reason you cannot go back on that plane, Arthur," Clara said, her voice shaking as she locked eyes with him. She reached into her apron pocket and pulled out a small, clear plastic bag containing a half-empty bottle of water that Arthur recognized instantly. It was his personal thermos, which he had left at the gate VIP lounge while using the restroom.

"I don't understand," Arthur whispered, a cold dread pooling in his stomach.

Clara took a deep breath. "My name is Clara Vance. I am the daughter of Richard Vance—your former business partner. I know you haven't seen me since I was a child, but I recognized you the moment you boarded. But more importantly, I recognized Leo. Before boarding, I was grabbing a coffee near the VIP lounge. I saw Leo slip a white powder into your thermos. I didn't think much of it until I saw him anxiously watching you drink it on board."

Arthur stared at her, his mind racing. Richard Vance had been his closest friend, who had tragically passed away years ago. Arthur had tried to support Richard's family, but Leo had secretly severed ties with them, claiming they wanted nothing to do with Arthur. Now, the pieces of a horrifying puzzle were falling into place.

"He... he poisoned my water?" Arthur stammered, his voice cracking with heartbreak.

"Yes," Clara nodded grimly. "I called airport security the moment I got you off. They are searching Leo and the aircraft right now."

They are searching Leo and the aircraft right now."
