Previously: When the kingdom's greatest knight failed to draw the legendary sword from the stone, a ragged, forgotten boy stepped forward—and changed the course of history forever.

The moment Arthur’s fingers closed around the leather-wrapped handle, a deep hum vibrated through the earth, shaking the loose gravel beneath their boots. The mocking laughter of the knights died instantly. Before their very eyes, the deep cracks in the ancient stone began to glow with a brilliant, golden light, casting long shadows against the foggy canyon walls. With a smooth, effortless motion, Arthur pulled. The blade slid from the stone like silk from a sheath, releasing a blinding flash of pure, radiant energy that shattered the gloom.

A Deadly Revelation

Arthur held the legendary sword high, its pristine steel gleaming in the dim light. The knights fell to their knees, their armor clattering against the rocks as they gasped in absolute awe. But Borin remained standing, his face contorted in a mixture of shock and growing fury. He stepped closer, his eyes locked onto Arthur's right wrist. As the boy’s ragged sleeve fell back, it revealed a distinct, crescent-shaped birthmark.

"That is impossible," Borin whispered, his voice trembling with a dangerous edge. "The prophecy said only the true heir of King Uther could draw that blade. But the prince died in infancy..."

The truth hung in the air, heavy and undeniable. Arthur was not a nameless stable boy; he was the hidden king, spirited away to the slums to protect him from the greedy lords who had sought to control the throne. Yet, instead of kneeling to his new sovereign, Borin drew his heavy broadsword, his eyes narrowing into cold, murderous slits.

"The old king is dead, boy," Borin hissed, stepping forward with lethal intent. "And I will not bow to a peasant bastard. Give me the sword, or I will take your head right here."

The other knights, loyal to Borin and terrified of losing their power, drew their weapons. They formed a tight, suffocating circle of steel around the young, untrained king, trapping him in the narrow gap.
