Previously: A barefoot orphan crashes an elite gala, clutching a half-medallion. When the billionaire's twin sees his face, the guard's cruel words shatter — but the real secret is only beginning.

The Reunion That Broke the Walls

The call came from a warehouse on the docks, a rusted shell of a building that smelled of salt and rot. Roland had Lucas bound to a chair in the center of the floor, a single bulb swinging overhead. The boy's face was pale, but his eyes were defiant.

Liam stood in the shadows with Sebastian, watching through a grimy window. His heart pounded so hard he could feel it in his teeth. He wanted to burst through the door, but Sebastian held him back.

“He'll hurt Lucas if we rush,” Sebastian whispered. “We need to be smart.”

Roland paced inside, his velvet tuxedo now rumpled, his eyes wild. “I know you're out there, Sebastian!” he shouted. “Come in, or I'll start cutting off fingers.”

Liam's blood turned to ice. He looked at Sebastian, and the billionaire nodded. They had one chance.

Liam stepped out of the shadows, his hands raised. “I'm here, Roland.”

Roland spun, a cruel smile spreading across his face. “The little stray returns. Perfect. Now I have both of you.”

Liam didn't waver. He walked toward his brother, his eyes locked on Roland's. “Let Lucas go. I'm the one you want. I'm the one with the birthmark.”

“You're the one with the price tag,” Roland sneered. “Your father was supposed to pay me eight years ago. Instead, he let you rot. You know what that feels like, don't you? To be thrown away?”

Liam's jaw tightened. “He didn't know. You and Eleanor — you lied to him.”

“I lied because he refused to pay for his sins,” Roland spat. “He thought he could just walk away from my sister. He thought he could ignore her.”

“She was blackmailing him!” Liam shouted.

Roland laughed. “She was protecting her family. You were never meant to be found. But you had to come to the gala, didn't you? You had to ruin everything.”

Liam saw his opening. Roland was too focused on him, too caught up in his rage. He lunged forward, grabbing Lucas's chair and pulling him free. They tumbled to the ground just as Sebastian burst through the door with a security team.

Roland tried to run, but Sebastian caught him by the collar and shoved him to the floor. “You're done, Roland. The police are on their way.”

Liam held Lucas, both of them trembling. “Are you okay?” he whispered.

Lucas nodded, tears streaming down his face. “I knew you'd come.”

They drove home in silence, the city lights blurring past. Sebastian sat in the front, his face etched with grief. When they finally reached the mansion, he turned to face Liam.

“I'm sorry,” he said, his voice thick. “I should have fought harder. I should have found you.”

Liam looked at him, the anger draining away. He thought of his birth mother's letter, of the words she had written: Forgive him, if you can.

“You're here now,” Liam said. “That's what matters.”

Madeline came running out, gathering both boys into her arms. She wept into their hair, whispering apologies and promises. Lucas wrapped his arms around Liam's neck, and for the first time in eight years, Liam felt like he was home.

That night, they sat together in the study, the fire crackling. Sebastian pulled out a box of old photographs — pictures of two identical babies, their tiny wrists marked with crescent birthmarks.

“I never stopped looking for you,” Sebastian said. “In my heart, I knew you were out there.”

Liam smiled, a real smile, one that reached his eyes. “I found my way back.”

And as the embers glowed, Liam understood something his birth mother had written in that letter: Family isn't just blood. It's the choice to love someone, even when it hurts.

The half-medallions lay on the table, now joined as one, their falcon wings finally whole. Roland was arrested, his blackmail scheme exposed. And the Cole family, once broken, was finally together.

Liam closed his eyes, feeling his brother's hand in his, and knew that he had found where he belonged.
