As Evelyn’s breathing stabilized and the immediate danger subsided, a new tension filled the room. Caleb stood protectively between Brenda and his mother, his gaze unwavering. “Security is outside waiting to arrest you,” Evelyn added, her tone firm and final. At that precise moment, the door swung open again, revealing two hospital police officers. They stepped in, their presence an undeniable barrier, blocking Brenda’s escape route. Her scheme had unraveled spectacularly, her greed leading directly to her downfall. The family home, the inheritance, her freedom – all were now lost.
