Previously: When glamorous Diana mocked a humble girl scrubbing the mansion floors, she thought she was untouchable. But one phone call from her husband revealed a truth that destroyed her lavish life forever.

The Cost of Cruelty

The silence that followed was absolute. Diana felt the air leave her lungs. The glass of champagne finally slipped from her fingers, shattering on the very marble floor she had just mocked Chloe for cleaning. The golden liquid spilled across the tiles, mixing with the soapy water. Chloe, the girl she had treated like garbage, was the actual owner of the empire. Under the terms of their upcoming marriage, the prenuptial agreement was entirely dependent on the family trust's approval—which was controlled completely by Chloe.

Chloe stepped forward, her demeanor calm and regal despite her simple beige dress. She looked at Diana not with anger, but with a quiet pity that cut deeper than any insult could.

"I wanted to see who you really were when the cameras were off, Diana,"

Chloe said softly.

"My brother believed you were kind. But true character is revealed by how you treat those who can do absolutely nothing for you."

Diana fell to her knees, heedless of the wet floor and the shattered glass. She began to sob, begging Richard for forgiveness, promising that she could change, that it was just a stressful morning. But the damage was done. Richard looked away, his heart completely hardened against her lies.

"The trust is revoked, and your access to the accounts is terminated,"

Richard said, his voice echoing in the grand foyer. He signaled to the security guards waiting outside the double doors.

"Please escort her off the property."

As Diana was led away, weeping and disgraced, the mansion fell silent once more. Chloe looked at her brother and smiled, a silent understanding passing between them. True wealth is not measured by the luxury of one's home, but by the integrity of one's heart, proving that those who look down on others will eventually find themselves with nowhere left to fall.
