The Greedy Heiress Attacked Her Elderly Maid, Unlocking a Shocking Family Secret
Previously: When Victoria viciously attacked her elderly maid Clara in the mansion foyer, she didn't expect the family doctor to intervene—or to expose the dark secret she was desperately trying to bury.
The Secret in the Spilled Liquid
Victoria lay gasping on the ruined floor, surrounded by shattered marble and broken glass. Her crimson dress was dusty, and her eyes flared with a mixture of shock and sheer embarrassment. She scrambled to her feet, pointing a manicured finger at the doctor.
"You are finished, Julian!" she hissed, her voice trembling with rage. "You are just a hired doctor! I will have you fired, blacklisted, and thrown in jail for assaulting me!"
Julian didn't back down. Instead, he stood firmly in front of Clara, helping the soaking wet, shivering elderly woman to her feet. He draped his own white lab coat over Clara’s shoulders, shielding her from Victoria’s venomous glare.
"Go ahead and call the police, Victoria," Julian said, his voice deadly calm. "I’m sure they would love to see the security footage of you assaulting a helpless senior citizen. And I’m sure they’d be even more interested in what Clara was actually trying to clean up."
Victoria’s face suddenly drained of color. She glanced down at the red puddle on the floor. "It... it’s just spilled wine," Victoria stammered, though her confidence was visibly crumbling. "She knocked over a bottle of vintage Merlot."
"Is that what you're calling it?" Julian asked, stepping closer. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, sealed glass vial containing a sample of the exact same red liquid. "This isn't wine, Victoria. This is a highly concentrated, liquid chemical compound—a slow-acting poison that has been slowly deteriorating Arthur's health over the last three months."
Clara gasped, clutching Julian’s coat. "Oh, my goodness... I thought it was just his heart medicine that she spilled!"
"It was mixed into his medicine," Julian revealed, his eyes locked on Victoria. "Clara found the bottle hidden in your vanity this morning, didn't she? You realized she knew, so you knocked it out of her hands, tried to destroy the evidence, and then attacked her to silence her."
Victoria took a step back, her back pressing against the broken counter. "You have no proof of this! You're making things up to protect this peasant!"
"I don't need to make anything up," Julian countered, pulling out an official-looking folder from his leather bag. "Because the lab results came back this morning. But that’s not the only thing the lab confirmed."
