Derek groaned in agony on the floor, clutching his chest where Chloe’s heavy boot had connected. He looked up, his eyes filled with a mixture of shock, pain, and sheer embarrassment. He had always viewed Chloe as just a kid, completely forgetting that she had spent the last four years being molded into a disciplined, fearless soldier.
