Previously: Chloe thought she was marrying the love of her life, but at the altar, he whispered a cruel secret. Then, her long-lost billionaire father walked in, changing everything.

The Mask Falls Off

Arthur looked down at Liam with a cold, calculating gaze that had struck fear into the hearts of Wall Street’s fiercest competitors. He gently patted Chloe’s hand, whispering that she was safe now, before turning his full attention to the trembling groom. Liam looked like he wanted the earth to open up and swallow him whole. Just moments ago, he was the king of his own cruel game; now, he was a trapped mouse.

"Mr. Vance... Arthur... I can explain,"

Liam stammered, desperately trying to find his footing. He frantically gestured between Chloe and her father. "It’s not what it looks like. I love Chloe! I was just... I was just nervous. It was a joke!"

Arthur’s expression remained like carved ice. "A joke, Liam? You think mocking my daughter’s financial standing at the altar of God is a joke?" the older man asked, his voice low and dangerous. "I built Vanguard Enterprises from nothing, and I chose to raise Chloe away from the toxic spotlight of wealth so she could grow into a woman of genuine substance. But I always kept a watchful eye on her. And more importantly, I kept an eye on you."

The guests whispered furiously as Arthur pulled a sleek leather folder from his pinstripe jacket. He tossed it onto the altar table. Liam’s eyes widened as he recognized the corporate logo on the cover. It was a complete dossier on his financial activities at the firm.

"You didn't just use my daughter,"

Arthur continued, his voice echoing off the stone walls. "You used your position at my company to secure insider information, and you’ve been funneling client accounts into a private offshore fund. You thought marrying a 'poor girl' would keep you under the radar. But you married the daughter of the man who owns your entire life."
