Elena frantically tried to tuck the pendant back beneath her collar, her voice trembling as she pleaded, "Please, sir, don't. Just let me go." But David’s hands were already shaking as he gently reached out and held the silver piece. He turned it over, his eyes locking onto the engraved date: October 12th, 1989. It was the exact date of his secret elopement with his first love—the woman he had been told died in a tragic car accident three decades ago.

"Where did you get this?" David whispered, his voice cracking with an overwhelming wave of emotion. He looked up from the pendant, searching the lined face of the maid before him. Tears welled in his eyes as the impossible truth dawned on him. "My wife..." he gasped.

He remembered how Evelyn, his former assistant, had been the one to deliver the devastating news of Elena’s "death" and had miraculously "found" Marcus in an orphanage months later. Standing tall, David shielded Elena from the approaching security guards.
