Inside the cramped security office, the atmosphere was suffocating. Thomas stood with his arms crossed, a smug expression returning to his face as he believed his lie would hold up. The station manager queued up the high-definition CCTV footage of the terminal. The screen flickered to life, showing the crowded terminal from multiple angles. The footage was undeniable.

The video clearly showed Marcus walking peacefully, completely unaware of his surroundings, when Thomas deliberately stepped out of an alcove, waited for him, and lunged with unprovoked violence, shoving the officer against the pillar. Furthermore, the high-quality audio feed captured Thomas’s quiet, venomous threat about his son Kevin. There was no assault by Marcus. It was a clear, premeditated attack by a transit employee abusing his power for personal revenge.

The smug look on Thomas's face evaporated, replaced by a deathly pale mask of terror. His fellow transit officers immediately stepped back, muttering apologies and distancing themselves from him. Captain Miller looked at the local police officers who had arrived on the scene.

"File the charges," Captain Miller said firmly. "Assaulting a military officer, filing a false police report, and official misconduct."

As the local police cuffed Thomas, the broken guard looked down at the floor, realizing his bitterness had not only failed to avenge his son but had completely ruined his own life. Marcus adjusted his pristine Navy cover and stood tall. He looked at the man who had tried to destroy him, his voice calm but powerful.

"True honor cannot be stolen, and it certainly cannot be faked," Marcus said. "My uniform represents service, not a weapon for your personal grudges."
