Previously: When a snobbish sales rep and a cruel director mock a little girl and her grandfather in a luxury boutique, they have no idea they are insulting the legendary founder himself.

A Cruel Lesson in Class

Richard sneered as he pointed to the portrait of a distinguished, sharp-jawed man in his late forties. "That is Arthur Vanderbilt," Richard said, his voice dripping with condescension. "A man of vision, elegance, and extreme wealth. He built this empire from nothing, and he designed this very boutique to cater to the elite of society. Not to people who look like they bought their coats from a charity bin."

Sarah giggled quietly behind her manicured hand, emboldened by her director's cruelty. "Exactly, Richard. They are driving away our actual clientele. Perhaps we should call security to escort them out."

Arthur stood perfectly still. Instead of showing anger, a strange, quiet calm settled over his face. He looked up at the portrait of his younger self—painted thirty years ago, before the gray hair, before the retirement, and before he decided that life was about family rather than endless board meetings. He had purposefully worn his old gardening coat today, wanting to teach Lily a lesson about inner value, but he hadn't expected to receive a lesson on the sheer ugliness of human arrogance.

"So, you respect the founder, do you?" Arthur asked quietly, his eyes locking onto Richard's.
"Of course I do. He is a legend," Richard snapped. "Which is why I won't have his legacy tarnished by beggars. Now, leave before I have you thrown out."

Before Richard could summon the guards, the heavy glass doors of the boutique swung open. A tall man in a tailored grey suit walked in, flanked by two assistants. It was Thomas Vance, the Chief Executive Officer of the entire global brand, who was in town for an unannounced regional inspection. Richard's face instantly paled, his arrogant sneer twisting into a frantic, sycophantic smile as he rushed forward to greet the boss.

"Mr. Vance! What an absolute honor!" Richard stammered. "We were just... dealing with some unruly trespassers."
