Previously: A humble waitress faces the wrath of a mob lieutenant, only to discover her employer is far more dangerous than she could ever imagine. Power, respect, and a brutal lesson are served.

A Lesson in Respect

The insult hung in the air, but it was the swift, brutal violence that followed that truly shattered the showroom's fragile peace. With explosive kinetic acceleration, Damian Knox unleashed a vicious backhanded strike across Lily's mouth. The sickening, wet crack of skin-on-skin impact echoed sharply, a brutal punctuation mark in the hushed luxury. Realistic rotational physics whipped Lily's head sideways, sending fine crimson droplets of blood spattering onto the polished floor and dislodging a hairpin from her dark ponytail. She stumbled backward, her trembling body catching against the spinning pedestal of the prototype supercar. "Learn your place on your knees!" Knox sneered, his cruelty laid bare. Lily remained silent, clutching her split lower lip as a hot tear welled along her lower eyelid, her chin quivering violently. Don Nathan Shaw, his imposing figure finally emerging from the shadows, set down his heavy crystal whiskey tumbler with a dull, menacing clink. He rose from his obsidian leather chair with a terrifying, unhurried physical gravity, his gaze pinning the lieutenant. Buttoning his immaculate black cashmere overcoat, his voice cut through the tension, a chilling, razor-sharp baritone calm. "Damian... did I give you permission to lay hands on anyone under my roof?" The lieutenant's arrogant smirk instantly evaporated, replaced by a sickly pallor as his Adam's apple bobbed in a dry swallow. Lily, trembling against the turntable rail, watched with wide, tear-filled eyes as the power dynamic shifted irrevocably.
