Previously: Paralyzed billionaire Gregory receives a miraculous healing from a tattered stranger in a luxury restaurant, only to realize the shocking cost of his new legs.

The Cost of a Miracle

The entire restaurant erupted into chaos. Glasses shattered on the marble floor as patrons stood up, gasping and recording the impossible event on their phones. Gregory stood tall, his legs strong and steady beneath him, but his joy was instantly cut short. The young man who had healed him collapsed onto the floor, his face turning a deadly shade of pale. He gasped for air, his body trembling violently as if his very life force had been drained away.

"Get this fraud out of here!" the manager shouted, gesturing for the security guards to drag the limp young man away. Gregory tried to protest, but the overwhelming noise of the crowd drowned out his voice. As the guards pulled the unconscious stranger toward the back exit, a small, worn object slipped from the boy's tattered pocket and clattered onto the floor. Gregory bent down—marveling at the ease of the movement—and picked it up. It was a silver pocket watch.

Gregory’s heart stopped when he saw the engraving on the back: "G.A. to C.M." These were his initials and those of Clara, the woman he had loved and abandoned twenty-two years ago to pursue his corporate ambitions. Inside the watch was a folded piece of paper—a birth certificate for a boy named Noah. Gregory realized with a shock of absolute horror that this tattered young man was the son he had never known.

Gregory ran out into the pouring rain, finding the guards tossing Noah onto the wet pavement of the alley.

"Leave him!"
Gregory roared, dropping to his knees in the puddles. He pulled Noah into his arms, feeling the boy's icy skin. Noah slowly opened his eyes.
"You're walking, Father,"
Noah whispered weakly.
"My mother loved you... but my gift... it takes a life for a life."
Gregory's world shattered as he realized his son was dying to give him a second chance.
