He Humiliated His Poor Bride At The Altar, Then Her Father Walked In
Previously: Clara thought she was marrying the love of her life, but at the altar, Lucas whispered a cruel secret. When her father arrived, the groom's face turned pale.
A New Beginning
Lucas fell to his knees, desperately begging for forgiveness.
"Please, Mr. Vance! Don't do this! I worked so hard for that promotion. Clara, please, tell your father to stop! We can still get married!"His pathetic pleas only cemented Clara’s resolve. She looked down at him, feeling nothing but pity for the man who had tried to break her spirit just moments prior.
"There will be no wedding,"Clara declared, her voice ringing clear and strong. She slowly unclasped the beautiful diamond engagement ring from her finger and dropped it onto the stone floor. It bounced with a sharp metallic ring, rolling to a stop right by Lucas's knees.
"And you are no longer welcome in our lives."
Albert nodded in agreement, pulling out his phone to make a single, brief call.
"Security, terminate Lucas's employment immediately. Clear out his desk, and ensure every major firm in the city knows exactly why he was let go,"Albert commanded before hanging up. Lucas slumped forward, completely ruined. He had lost the promotion, his career, and the woman who would have shared a lifetime of genuine wealth and love with him.
Clara took her father's arm, her head held high. As they walked back down the aisle together, the wedding guests broke into spontaneous applause. She had lost a deceitful fiancé, but she had reclaimed her dignity and her future. Turning to her father, she smiled through her remaining tears, knowing that the best chapters of her life were yet to be written.
True wealth is never measured by the size of a bank account, but by the integrity of the heart.
