Previously: A cruel VIP forces my pregnant wife to clean his mess. My son steps up, and I catch his wrist. He has no idea the hotel belongs to her—and his time is up.

In the Boardroom, As Damien Smiled, I Played the Recording That Silenced Him Forever

Three weeks later, we sat in the hotel's boardroom, a long mahogany table between us and Damien's legal team. Damien looked smug, his suit pressed, his smile wide. He believed he had won. He believed we were about to hand him the keys to the empire.

But I had one card left to play.

He Humiliated My Pregnant Wife—Then I Showed Him the Deed to His Own Hotel

The night before, I had received a phone call from an old friend in Zurich—the same clinic that had treated my sister. They had discovered a security breach, someone trying to access patient records. They traced it to a private investigator hired by Damien. And in the process, they found something Damien had never expected: a recorded conversation, made years ago, between Damien and my father-in-law.

The recording was clear. Damien was threatening to expose my father-in-law's gambling debts if he didn't sign the original contract. He had blackmailed the old man into giving him that clause. The contract was void from the start, tainted by coercion.

In the boardroom, Damien was mid-sentence when I raised my hand. “Before you continue,” I said, “I'd like to play something.” I pressed a button on my laptop, and Damien's voice filled the room, cold and calculating. His face turned ashen as he heard his own words, the threats, the blackmail, the lies.

“This is a recording from your meeting with my father-in-law, dated six years ago,” I said. “It's been authenticated by three independent experts. You coerced him into signing that contract. That makes it null and void in every court in this country.”

Damien stood, his hands shaking. “That's… that's fake. You fabricated it.”

“It's real,” Nora said, her voice steady. She had walked in, her belly prominent, a fire in her eyes. “And I have the original tape in a safe deposit box. This is just a copy. You're finished, Damien.”

The judge, who had been observing from the corner, nodded. “The evidence is admissible. I'm ordering a full investigation into Mr. Locke's conduct. This case is dismissed, and the injunction is lifted.”

Damien's lawyer grabbed his arm, whispering something, but Damien shook him off. He looked at us, his eyes filled with hatred. “This isn't over,” he spat. “I'll appeal.”

“You can try,” I said, stepping closer. “But we have footage of you assaulting my wife, threatening my son, and harassing our staff. You'll be lucky if you don't spend the next decade in prison.”

Security arrived, and Damien was escorted out—not with the smugness of a VIP, but with the shame of a man who had lost everything. The boardroom fell silent, the weight of the victory settling over us.

Nora turned to me, her eyes glistening. “We did it.”

“No,” I said, taking her hand. “You did it. You held on, even when he tried to break you. You're the strongest person I know.”

She smiled, and for the first time in weeks, it reached her eyes. “I couldn't have done it without you, Dominic. You believed in me.”

I kissed her forehead. “Always. And we have a son who's braver than both of us.”

Later that night, we sat on the veranda, the Mediterranean breeze cooling the air. Leo was asleep on my lap, and Nora leaned against me, her hand resting on her belly. The hotel was ours again, the threat gone, the future bright.

But the lesson stayed with me: in the end, truth and love are the only things that can't be bought or threatened. And sometimes, the bravest act is to stand up, even when your knees are shaking.

I looked at Nora, at Leo, at the life we had built. “We're going to be okay,” I said. “We're going to be more than okay.”

She nodded, her eyes closing. “I know.”

And in that moment, I knew that no matter what came next, we would face it together.
