Previously: When General Arthur tried to humiliate Lieutenant Sarah Miller in front of the entire briefing room, he thought he was teaching a lesson. Instead, he triggered a chain of events that cost him everything.

The Threat of Disgrace

Walking out of that room was the most terrifying moment of Sarah’s career, but as the heavy steel door clicked shut behind her, she felt a profound sense of relief. She knew she had crossed a line, but it was a line that needed to be drawn. However, General Arthur was not a man who let defiance go unpunished. Within thirty minutes, Sarah was summoned to the base commander’s office.

She expected to face Major General Harrison, a fair leader who respected protocol. Instead, she found Arthur waiting for her, sitting behind the desk with a smug, self-satisfied grin. In front of him lay a drafted disciplinary report, detailing charges of insubordination and conduct unbecoming of an officer.

"You're done, Miller," Arthur sneered, tapping the paper with his pen. "By tomorrow morning, you'll be stripped of your rank and dishonorably discharged. You don't belong in my military."

Sarah stood straight, refusing to let him see her hands shake. "I was presenting a high-level security briefing, General," she replied, her voice unwavering. "Ordering me to fetch coffee is a violation of protocol, and your comments constitute harassment."

Arthur laughed, a harsh, grating sound. "Who do you think they'll believe? A decorated general with thirty years of service, or a young lieutenant who can't handle the heat? Your career is over."

He didn't realize that Sarah had been prepared for this. For weeks, Arthur’s behavior had crossed the line, and she had finally decided to protect herself. Pinned to her chest, disguised as a standard-issue insignia pin, was a tiny, high-definition camera that had recorded every single second of the confrontation in the briefing room.

But before she could speak, the office door flew open. Major General Harrison walked in, but he wasn't alone. Standing beside him was the Secretary of Defense, Robert Miller. Arthur scrambled to his feet, his face turning pale as he realized the gravity of the situation.
