The Showroom Showdown

The air in the luxury sports car showroom was thick with the scent of expensive leather and the acrid sting of spilled espresso. Harsh LED lights carved sharp reflections across the obsidian floor, illuminating a crimson hypercar that rotated slowly on a central display. It was a temple of wealth, a stark contrast to the trembling woman standing before its altar. Arthur, a frail grandmother with wisps of silver hair escaping a loose bun, shivered in a worn cardigan, her weathered face a map of deep sorrow. Towering over her was Armand Dubois, a man whose ruthlessness was as polished as his slicked-back hair and bespoke navy suit. His gold signet ring glinted on a clenched fist as he loomed, a predator cornering his prey.

Suddenly, Armand lunged. With vicious speed, he snatched a steaming coffee cup from Arthur’s hands. The paper cup burst against the mirror-polished floor with a wet, resonant crunch, spraying dark liquid across the immaculate tiles. “Sign the eviction notice, you decrepit leech,” Armand sneered, his voice dripping with contempt, “or I’ll throw you into the gutter myself!” Arthur stood frozen, her chin quivering, tears welling in her eyes, her breath hitching in a silent gasp of shock. From the shadows of a corridor, a new figure emerged: Edward Sterling. A towering biker, his face marked by a jagged scar, he watched the scene unfold, his jaw clenching with cold, lethal intensity. His heavy boots made no sound on the polished floor as he stepped forward, a silent storm gathering.

Armand Dubois: "Sign the eviction notice, you decrepit leech, or I’ll throw you into the gutter myself!"

Armand, emboldened by Arthur’s terrified silence, reared back his fist. His shoulder cocked, neck tendons straining, preparing to deliver a brutal blow. “You don’t deserve another breath in my building!” he roared, his voice laced with feral rage. Arthur hunched her shoulders, a picture of defenseless resignation, her eyes wide with terror. But before the fist could descend, Edward Sterling moved. A silent blur of motion, he charged forward, his eyes narrowing like a predator. He intercepted Armand’s descending fist mere inches from Arthur’s face. The impact was deafening, a bone-jarring clap that echoed through the showroom, arresting the blow and sending shockwaves up Armand’s arm.

Edward Sterling: "You touch her, and you lose that hand."

Armand’s eyes bulged in petrified disbelief, his sneer melting into raw terror. Arthur gasped silently, tears streaming down her hollow cheeks. Edward’s grip tightened around Armand’s wrist, his scarred hand like iron. With a brutal outward torque, he twisted the joint past its natural limit. The sickening sound of popping bones filled the air as Armand’s knees buckled, agony draining the color from his face. Cold sweat beaded on his contorted forehead. “On your knees in the mess you made, Dubois,” Edward’s voice was ice-cold venom. He forced the landlord down hard, his bespoke trousers soaking in the spilled coffee on the gleaming floor, directly beneath the slowly spinning hypercar. Edward then stepped protectively in front of Arthur, his imposing figure a shield against the world.

Edward Sterling: "Sign her building deed over today, or the next sound you hear is your collarbone snapping."

Armand shuddered in humiliated defeat, head bowed in the puddle. Arthur stood tall in Edward’s looming shadow, a tearful, triumphant expression of pure salvation washing over her face. The tyrant had been subdued, the deed signed. But as the adrenaline faded, a chilling question lingered: who was this mysterious protector, and what darkness had he unleashed?
