Previously: When a ruthless landlord threatened to evict my grandmother, I hired a formidable protector. What unfolded was a battle for justice, revealing a hidden past and a surprising twist of fate.

A Protector's Fury

Knox’s cruelty didn’t end with the shattered mug. Fueled by a sadistic rage, he squared his shoulders, his face contorting into a mask of pure malice. He raised a leather-gloved fist, cocking his arm back as if to deliver a devastating blow to my grandmother’s fragile head. Grace instinctively recoiled against the rough timber wall, her breath catching in her throat, tears welling in her clouded blue eyes. The air crackled with tension, the sound of the rain outside a distant roar against the terrifying silence within.

“Nobody defies me in this district!”

But as Knox’s fist descended, a blur of motion erupted from the shadows. My heavy steel-toed boots pounded the floorboards, closing the distance in an instant. My scarred hand shot out, intercepting his punch mere inches from Grace’s temple. The impact was a concussive thud that reverberated through the room, a bone-jarring collision that stopped Knox dead in his tracks. His arrogant sneer vanished, replaced by wide-eyed terror as he felt the unyielding strength of my grip.

“Touch her again, and you leave this room in pieces.”

I twisted his wrist, the sickening sound of straining cartilage echoing in the sudden, stunned silence. Knox buckled, his spine folding as I wrenched his arm backward. He slammed onto his knees, right into the puddle of spilled coffee and ceramic shards, his high-pitched cries of agony cutting through the air.

“Aargh! Stop, please—my wrist is breaking—I’ll drop the eviction!”

I held him there, my gaze cold and unwavering. Grace, her frail shoulders shaking, watched with a mixture of fear and dawning hope. The landlord who had preyed on the vulnerable was finally facing consequences.
