Previously: When Nathan stepped into the opulent ballroom in his dusty clothes, he only had one wish: to give Mia the dance she had waited years for, despite her father's furious attempts to stop him.

The Truth on the Dance Floor

As Mia’s hand met Nathan’s, a collective gasp rippled through the crowd. George made a move to intervene, but Mia glared at her father with a fierce determination he had never seen before. "Let him," she commanded. George froze, stunned by his daughter's sudden defiance.

Nathan knelt once more, gently placing Mia's feet on top of his own shoes. He wrapped his strong arms around her waist, and she clung to his neck. With a deep breath, Nathan stood up, lifting her entire weight. Supported by his strength, they began to sway to the gentle waltz playing in the background. It was a beautiful, heartbreaking sight. But as they danced, the illusion of peace shattered.

Tears streamed down Mia’s cheeks.

blockquote>Why did you leave me, Nathan?

she sobbed softly.

blockquote>You never came to the hospital. My father said you walked away because I was paralyzed.

Nathan’s heart shattered.

blockquote>I never left you, Mia,

he whispered urgently.

blockquote>Your father threatened my family and paid off the hospital staff to block me. I wrote you every day, but he intercepted the letters. He made me look like a monster so you would forget me.

Mia's eyes widened in horror. She looked over Nathan's shoulder at her father, who was frantically gesturing to three burly security guards. George knew his web of lies was collapsing. Before Nathan could say another word, the guards rushed the floor, grabbing Nathan and violently pulling him away from Mia. Nathan crashed to the marble floor, pinned down by the guards.

George walked over, adjusting his cuffs with cold indifference.

blockquote>Get this trash out of my gala,

he sneered. But as they began to drag Nathan away, Mia did the impossible. Fueled by pure adrenaline and rage, she gripped the armrests of her wheelchair, pushed herself up, and took two agonizing, trembling steps forward. Pointing a shaking finger at her father, she screamed,

blockquote>If you throw him out, I will tell everyone what you did to my car that night!
