Hero Dog Faces Death Sentence From Cruel Officer Until Veteran Steps In
A Hero's Welcome, A Cruel Fate
The air in the veterinary trauma bay was thick with a sterile, metallic tang, punctuated only by the anxious beeping of monitors. Harsh surgical lights cast stark shadows, making the scratched stainless steel tables gleam under their unforgiving glare. Knox, his uniform sweat-stained and his jaw set in a grim line, tapped a lethal injection syringe with callous indifference.
